Communications Team

Our church is uniquely blessed - we have so many talented people who have committed themselves to communicating the message of our church and the message of the Lord.

We have web designers, copy editors, graphic artists, video and media educators/professionals, and a whole bunch of dedicated folks who love the Lord!

For the 2009 year, the LCUMC Communications Team will continue our ongoing activities and initiated new projects.  Our ongoing activities are:

• Maintain the church web site,
• Submit press announcements to all local papers
• Record still and video images and produce video for the web, and for the library.  Archive these images for the future.
• Prepare posters, glossy brochures and other printed material,
• Produce the Guide Book Directory
• Produce communications items for Stewardship

Special activities for 2008 included:

• Total redesign of the church web site.  Brian Worrell has designed and implemented a beautiful new site that is both simple and attractive.  Please visit the site and let us know how we can improve it.
• Implemented additional lighting in the sanctuary to support video recording.
• Produced a video for Children’s Ministries to recruit Sunday School teachers.
• Produced a video for the Stewardship campaign, using shots of the Stewardship moments given throughout the year by our members during Sunday worship services.  (See the video on the web).
• Worked with industry to get a design and an estimate for a projection system to support blended worship in the Sanctuary.  Unfortunately, the cost was too high for our current budget position.  Temporary screens and a splitter to support two projectors were implemented as an interim solution.
• Began the design of a blog system.  Release is imminent (check the web site).
• Began planning for a mailing program to target families and individuals who have moved to/within the 77573 zip code.  Target implementation is January.
