Steve Shelton represents the Family Ties adult sunday school class. He has served in various leadership roles in the church since 1985, when he began attending LCUMC. He has served as lay reader, delivered two lay messages on Laity Sunday, chaired the Education Council (old), Council on Ministries (old), and Missions Committee. Service has also included membership on Administrative Council, participating in local and international missions, junior and senior high youth program adult volunteer, and sunday school teacher for young adult and Family Ties classrooms. Of particular relevance to this current Building Committee was service as chairman of the Building Committee for the LCUMC Family Life Center expansion; being a confirmed do-it-yourselfer; job experience in residential construction; professional experience in major program design, planning, budgeting, and implementation; executive management experience in multi-million dollar programs; and a variety of interests that contribute to thought and discussion in planning this new facility.
