We treasure our Children here at LCUMC. We offer many ministries to enrich their spirit and help them grow roots that will keep them grounded in God's love and truth for all of their days. Also, we celebrate the gift of families by offering events and studies that encourage a strong family bond.
Look around our church and our various ministries and you will see for yourself how much Children and families are welcomed here!
WORSHIP- We encourage families to worship together. We provide worship activities for our children to do during worship services including a children's bulletin, books and crayons. We have a special "children's moment" during all of our services, which brings that day's message to the children in ways that they too will understand. Also, during our 11:00 services we offer a Children's Church after the children's moment, this is for children 4 years-2nd grade.
SUNDAY SCHOOL- is 9:45 am-10:35 and the ages include 2yrs-5th grade. Each grade level has their own class and regular teachers that they get to know and love throughout the year. Sunday school includes a planned lesson with crafts and games, also literature/activity sheets to take home. We strive to make Sunday School a highlight of your child's week! Come visit our Children's Welcome desk, open every Sunday Morning. We will help you find your Sunday school class and have any info you need about children's ministries.
CONFIRMATION- We offer a special confirmation program for our 5th graders. This takes place in the spring, with lessons taught by our Pastors, Children and Youth director. There are special field trips planned, mission projects and a retreat. The Sunday of Confirmation, there is a special breakfast for the confirmands, their families and friends in faith. Also, there is a wonderful Confirmation Service that blends both our Traditional and Contemporary services into one service at 11:00 so our entire Church can be together to celebrate these young people and the Journey of Faith they have chosen.
MUSIC MINISTRIES-we offer children's choir, rainbow bells, and handchimes for our children ages 3 years-5th grade. We rehearse every week and participate in many services throughout the year. SEE BELOW FOR FALL 2008 news!
SEASONAL EVENTS- throughout the year we try and provide a time for families to celebrate the season in a fun, laid back environment. Some of our events are Easter Eggstravaganza, Fall festival, Advent Festival and more! Summer we offer VBs, craft camps, service week and book clubs.
VBS- Every summer we offer a week long VBS program. This is for Children 4years-4th grade. We offer a special program for the 3 year old children of our LCUMC members and our Weekday preschool and mother's day out program.
T.G.I.W.-Thank God It's Wednesday!!! ---Our Family WED. night program
T.G.I.W. Thank God It's Wednesday! Begins Sept 10th 6:45pm-7:45pm. Come with your family! Adults attend various studies and children k-5th are involved in our TGIW club! We have book clubs, crafts, snack, kids worship songs, games and lot of FUN! see our home page for more info. The nursery is available for infants-prek!** WE will start again OCTOBER 1ST

CHILDREN'S CHOIR NEWS
**We begin our new season- Sunday September 28th..... THIS SUNDAY!
3-5 years old meet in 3 year old SS classroom on Sunday Mornings 9:35-9:50
K-5th grade meet at 4:00pm-4:30pm on Sundays in the Chapel.This year we will have 2 separate choirs one for k-3rd and one for 4th/5th
Children's chimes/rainbow bells-k-5th meet at 4:30-5:00 on Sunday
Children's Christmas Musical is Decmeber 14th, followed by our Advent fest. You must be part of children's choir to participate in musical!
Our musical this year is "Angel Alert!"
To provide a safe environment, our programs are regulated by our Safe-Sanctuary policy. Background checks are done on all teachers, helpers, and workers and policies are in place to ensure a positive interaction with your children. And in today's world, a safe place for your child is a gift from God.
