Motivated by the love of God, LCUMC is actively reaching out into the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Through food, prayer, support and repairs we offer hope and love to our neighbors in our immediate community and to the far corners of the world. Our service for the glory of God is helping to define us and is offering us exciting growth opportuinities for our Christian walks. Here are some of the ways God is leading us to follow Him.

Local Missions

 Neighbor to Neighbor assistance program helps us distribute funds as they are available to help others with gas, utilities, rent, prescriptions and similar needs.

Mobile food distribution ministry is done in cooperation with the Galveston County Food Bank and allows us decrease food insecurity in our area. 

Change the World Day is an annual event during which we spread out into the community and help in various work and support efforts. 

Home repairs are done by individuals and groups from the church as needs are identified. 

Devereux is a youth rehabilitation facility which we support through our giving tree, volunteer hours and chapel leadership. Find out more about Devereux at their web site.

Resource and Crisis Center of Galveston County receives our support through the giving tree and special projects including a Mother's day visit. 

 Domestic Missions

UMCOR Sager Brown Depot in Baldwin, La., is the headquarters for UMCORs relief supply operations.

U.M. ARMY’s mission is: “To provide Christ-centered quality youth work camps that serve people in need and promote spiritual growth and leadership development in youth.”

Disaster response to locations such as Orange, Joplin, Ike, UMCOR.

Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch is located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains in Southwest Missouri. They are changing the lives of at-risk boys in our Christian residential treatment program.
