The Pairs & Spares

The Pairs & Spares Class is a group of single and married adults who enjoy hearing and discussing different ideas about scripture and the Christian experience.  Most of our children are out of the house, so our interests have changed from “parenting” to “grandparenting” and dealing with life in the middle years. 

Location:  Room 201 in the FLC

Current Study:  Romans by Robert Jewett a Genesis to Revelation Bible Study

Previous Studies:  ...World Religions, The Will of God, James Moore books, Social Principles of The United Methodist Church 2009-2012 .

Ministry Involvement:  Missions Committee, Choirs, Christian Nurture, Walkin’ for Christ, Communion Stewards, Trustees, Council on Ministries, Teaching children and youth, Ushers, Greeters, and more.

Social Activities: Lunch together on last Sunday of most months, Christmas party, Occasional dinners

Some Hobbies/Professions of members: Teachers (mostly retired), Engineers, Real Estate Sales/Development

Reasons some of the class members joined class: Open discussion, freedom to express ideas, good friendly folks
 

One characteristic of the Pairs & Spares is the joy we find in being with each other.  We welcome new members, and they quickly become part of the family.  We sometimes stray into deep discussions, but we always seem to find a reason to erupt in laughter that disturbs our neighbors.
