Lifestyle Stewardship
For many, Giving is not easy. With the many demands on our resources, giving often becomes a matter of the heart. It asks us to sacrifice and move beyond our comfort zone into the arena of reliance on God. Giving to God calls us to prayerfully look deep inside and make the right decision to support God’s Direction.
Lifestyle Stewardship is a level of giving that reaches into our lives, impacting the way we live. The challenge of Lifestyle Stewardship is to find ways, through God’s grace, to let our giving touch our living.
“A Foundation for the Future” asks each of us to make a spiritual commitment to seek the greater glory of God for a greater future for League City United Methodist Church. The magnitude of this challenge calls each person in our church to make a commitment over and above our normal giving. This level of commitment has the potential to impact our lifestyles. While this may seem a daunting challenge, as is the case in every challenge, there is a shared adventure of success.
In 2 Samuel 24:24, King David wishes to present a gift to God. Someone offers to give him the gift that he may offer it to God. David replies, “I will not offer to God that which costs me nothing.” David knew that a gift that touches the heart of God must first touch his own heart.
This is the spirit of Lifestyle Stewardship.
